Ohio educator chosen to lead UTC

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) -- An Ohio educator has been chosen as the new chancellor of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Steve Angle is senior vice president of Wright State University in Fairborn, Ohio.

The Chattanooga Times Free Press reported UT system President Joe DePietro said he expects no opposition when the UT board votes on the selection of Angle on Thursday.

DePietro called Angle a proven scholar who will understand teaching and research issues.

UTC was the only public college in Tennessee to increase enrollment last year. The number of students was up 2 percent.
