Oktoberfest kicks off at Ober Gatlinburg

Oktoberfest has kicked off at Ober Gatlinburg with lots of food, music and dancing.  The Bavarian-Style festival will feature entertainment through November 4th.

GATLINBURG, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Oktoberfest has kicked off at Ober Gatlinburg with lots of food, music and dancing. The Bavarian-Style festival will feature entertainment through November 4th.

The Bavarian Fun Makers Band will perform in authentic costumes and perform traditional Bavarian folk dances. Shows will be at Noon, 2, 4 and 6pm daily. Ober Gatlinburg plans to have employees particiapting in costumes as well.

"It is the most fun you can have," said John Cossaboom with Ober Gatlinburg. "We've got German food, we've got German music, we've got all of our wait staff in costume. You will feel like you're in Bovaria when you come to Ober Gatlinburg."

There will also be a beer tent with Bavarian entertainment Thursday-Sunday afternoons.

Oktoberfest kicked off at 5pm on September 28th.
