KPD: Stabbing victim, suspect were brothers

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A Russellville man stands accused of stabbing his younger brother in his sleep early Wednesday morning, according to the Knoxville Police Dept.

Troy Welch, 44, is accused of attacking his brother, Tony Good, 37, at the Morris Motel on Clinton Highway around 4:45 a.m. When officers arrived, they found Good with several cuts on his body. He was rushed to UT Medical Center in serious condition.

A preliminary investigation indicated the brother were involved in a drunken fight earlier that night.

Welch has been charged with Aggravated Assault and is being held on $10,000 bond.
