Parolee faces homicide, attempted murder charges

BLOUNTVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Parole has been revoked for a Blountville man who is now charged in the death of one girlfriend and an attempt on another girlfriend's life.

The Kingsport Times-News reported parole for 29-year-old Argie Brian Baker was revoked, quoting a Tennessee Board of Probation and Parole spokeswoman on Wednesday.

Baker had been sentenced to three years in prison on an aggravated domestic assault conviction. He went to prison in November 2010 and was paroled in July 2011.

Shortly before reporting to prison, a single-car crash killed 21-year-old Brandi Mae Darnell of Kingsport. Baker was indicted on a vehicular homicide charge in November.

He also faces an attempted second-degree murder charge in Scott County, Va., in a December 2011 incident in which another woman was run over by a car.
