COLUMBIA, Tenn. (AP) -- Authorities have ruled out poisoning in the deaths of seven horses in Maury County.

Sheriff's Detective Terry Chandler said one of the carcasses was sent to a state agriculture laboratory and tests for poison came back negative, The Daily Herald reported Thursday (http://bit.ly/wDtRBC).

LeeAnn LeMaster said on Feb. 12 she found six mares and a stallion dead within 50 feet of each other. Three other horses were unharmed.

Chandler said the horses appeared to be well cared for and foul play is not suspected.
