LONDON, Ky. (AP) -- Kentucky State Police said an investigation found that a man whose body was found inside a burned-out car next to a burned duplex in southeastern Kentucky killed himself.
A statement from police on Monday said an autopsy found that 29-year-old Neil Spitzer of Corbin died Thursday of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. A gun was found in his vehicle.
Police were called to the scene at Spitzer's home after a meter reader reported an explosion. Police said the car was discovered after the house fire was extinguished, and the body was found inside the vehicle.
Police said evidence shows that the victim set fire to his duplex, and then set fire to his car while he was sitting in it.
