ERWIN, Tenn. (AP) -- Authorities have released the names of four people killed in a domestic homicide-suicide in Erwin.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said the shooting victims were 39-year-old Bridget N. Hughes, 12-year-old Whitney Hughes and 11-year-old Austin Hughes. Their bodies were found after the shooting at Town Acres Apartments early Saturday, along with the body of 47-year-old Herbert Clyde Hughes Jr., the presumed shooter.
Town Acres resident Sandra Carver described the children to the Johnson City Press on Monday as "as sweet as they could be." Neighbors held a candle light vigil for the victims Monday night.
TBI spokeswoman Kristin Helm noted there was a history of domestic problems in the Hughes home.
