CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Police said a Clarksville police officer has been shot while responding to a call of a shooting at a home, but the injuries are not considered life threatening.
Officer Jim Knoll, a spokesman for the Clarksville police, told The Leaf-Chronicle that the unnamed officer was shot on Thursday while responding to a call that a man was bleeding on the porch of a home in north Clarksville.
Officers followed a trail to another home where the officer was shot, police said.
A nearby elementary school was placed on lockdown and some neighboring homes have been evacuated as police continue to investigate.
