NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Metro Nashville Police have found the head of a decapitated body and made an arrest in the victim's killing.
WZTV-TV reported the arrest early Friday. Police said they charged 37-year-old Henry James Baxter with criminal homicide. Police identified the victim was 48-year-old Erman Thompson.
Detectives discovered Baxter had been living at Thompson's home, along with Thompson's wife and her three children. A police affidavit states Baxter admitted shooting Thompson in the head and using a shovel to decapitate him. Police believe Thompson was killed Sunday.
Detectives found Thompson's head in a trash can early Friday. His body was apparently dumped in the field on Tuesday. A letter carrier discovered it Thursday while stopping to eat lunch.
