Reaction to the end of the Summitt era

KNOXVILLE,Tenn (WVLT)-- Fans of all ages are talking about the legacy that Pat Summitt will leave behind, and what she means to so many people.

Lady Vol fan, Ashley Autry said,"I really commend her, and throw my hat off to her for just still standing by her team. It really shows how dedicated she is as a coach."

University of Tennessee student Julian Liggins said, "She is really dedicated to the program and I don't think they'll be anybody else like her. She's been here forever, she's won a lot of games, and she's part of Tennessee history."

Pat Summitt fan Shirley Metcalf reflects, "She's just a terrific lady. She's just a person that anyone should want to model themselves after. Because her character is above standing. No one can beat Pat Summitt."

Pat's fan base extends well beyond Rocky Top. Celeste Jones brought her two young daughters from Nebraska to see Coach Summitt before she retired, "Pat Summitt is a legend. I grew up wanting to play for her, and I want my girls to have the same inspiration that she inspired me with."

Summitt's name has always been synonymous with talent, but she has proven in her 38 seasons that is it not all about basketball. She earned respect and love from fans all over the country.
