KINGSPORT, Tenn. (AP) -- Police in Kingsport say skeletal remains found recently were those of a Virginia man who appears to have been shot.
The Kingsport Times-News quoted a police news release in reporting dental records were used to identify the remains as those of 36-year-old Antonio J. Wyatt. Detective David Cole said Wyatt had been working in the Kingsport area, but was from the Norfolk and Virginia Beach area. He was reported missing last year.
Police said the case is a homicide and said Wyatt had been shot at least once.
A survey crew working in a vacant field at an industrial park discovered the remains March 14.
