ROANE COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) - The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation needs your help tracking down the person who killed a Roane County man.
The family of 85-year-old Russel Blevins is offering a $3,000 reward to anyone with information leading to an arrest and conviction of his killer.
His family found him in his home in Kingston August 12. He had been shot several times.
Investigators believe guns went missing from the home, including an M-130 caliber rifle. Deputies are now searching pawn shops for the weapons.
"If anyone has bought a rifle similar to this one, or a rifle - an M1 Carbine - it could be detrimental to our case. And that is a piece we're looking for to fit into this homicide," said Roane County Sheriff Jack Stockton.
Blevins' family and neighbors are hoping the case will be solved soon.
"We all want closure to this. It's a very quiet neighborhood on the lake and this is just outside the realm of believability really," said Jan Long, who lives two doors down from Blevins' home.
Anyone with information about the crime can reach the TBI at (800) TBI-FIND or the Roane County Sheriff's Office at (865) 376-5582.
