KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) Opera singers were there as the city made the announcement Wednesday .
Mayor Madeline Rogero said it's hard to close the street for a lot of festivals, but decided they would continue to do it for the Rossini Festival.
It's a time to celebrate the Italian culture and hear great music.
The annual festival will kickoff on April 12th.
