KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- SUPing otherwise known as Stand Up Paddle-boarding is one of the many outdoor activities you can take part in this weekend at the Outdoor KnoxFest.
Ed McAlister, owner of River Sports explains "It has been around on the coast for years but it's only come inland in the last 4 to 5 years. This year it's hit Knoxville and we're seeing an incredible interest in it."
Located right next to Ruth's Christ Steakhouse in downtown; you can rent a paddle-board for only $35 a day or $25 dollars for half a day and see the downtown area from a different view.
But SUP is not the only activity you can try this weekend during the Outdoor KnoxFest. It kicks off Saturday August 25th with the Carp Cup; where you can try to catch the biggest carp in the river.
There's also biking, hiking, and even rock climbing. It's a way to get out and enjoy the outdoors without traveling too far.
"Knoxville is full of outdoor adventures and this weekend is a perfect way to learn more about how you can get out and enjoy everything our city has to offer." said McAlister.
