MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Shelby County officials say they have apprehended an inmate accused of walking away from a work detail this week.
Shelby County sheriff's spokesman Chip Washington says 26-year-old Daniel Webster was found Wednesday afternoon at an apartment complex. Washington says when officers approached, Webster kicked out a third-story window and tried to jump but was brought back inside and surrendered.
Authorities say Webster was doing landscaping work at Lichterman Nature Center when supervisors reported him missing Tuesday. He is serving a four-year sentence for theft of property and vandalism.
