MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Shelby County Sheriff's Office officials say a man who broke into a home was then clobbered by people he robbed.
Authorities said they took 31-year-old Brian Hubbard to a hospital early Friday. Investigators said Hubbard forced his way into a home and made a woman and her son give him money.
Before he could get away, Hubbard was struck several times in the head with a trophy and had to be taken to the Regional Medical Center for his injuries.
Deputies prepared charges of robbery, aggravated burglary, impersonating a police officer and vandalism.
