Singer Brown won't be performing at Nashville show

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- The Nashville Municipal Auditorium has announced that Bobby Brown will not perform with New Edition a day after his ex-wife Whitney Houston was found dead.

The auditorium announced Sunday evening via Twitter: "Bobby Brown will not be appearing tonight at the New Edition show." The auditorium earlier announced that the group would be going ahead with its reunion tour performance but that Brown's status was uncertain.

Brown became emotional Saturday evening when he performed with the group at the Landers Center in Southaven, Miss., south of Memphis. He declared "I love you, Whitney" when he took the stage, then performed about 10 songs over an hour before becoming overcome with emotion during the singing of a ballad. He then waved to the crowd and left the stage.
