GOLDEN POND, Ky. (AP) -- Halloween traditions of Scot-Irish settlers will be celebrated at Land Between the Lakes on Saturday.
Snap Apple Night at The Homeplace begins with tales told at a blazing bonfire, followed by an old-time snap apple play party. There will be warm cider to drink and people should dress for chilly weather. The event is from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. CDT. Lawn chairs and blankets are recommended.
Admission is $5 for people over 12, $3 for elementary students and free for children 4 and under.
The Homeplace is located in the Tennessee portion of LBL and features 16 restored or reconstructed log buildings plus interpreters in period clothing demonstrating the daily lives and customs of mid-19th century farm families.
