NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Volunteers will help clean up 11 Civil War sites Saturday in Tennessee as part of a national campaign.
The annual event nationwide, called Park Day, involves more than 100 historic sites in 25 states.
The Tennessee sites are Britton Lane Battlefield, Medon; The Carter House, Franklin; Carnton Plantation, Franklin; Fort Dickerson, Knoxville; Fort Donelson, Dover; Fort Granger, Franklin; Fort Pillow, Henning; Mabry Hazen House, Knoxville; Parker's Crossroads Battlefield Park, Parker's Crossroads; Shy's Hill and Redoubt No. 1, Nashville; and Stones River National Battlefield, Murfreesboro.
Volunteers will receive a T-shirt and get to hear a local historian describe the significance of the site.
