COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A state trooper assigned to the Cookeville district was been fired for gross misconduct.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol announced the dismissal Tuesday of 32-year-old Jonathan Reed, an eight-year THP veteran, but did not specify the details. The THP had said in April he was on approved medical leave.
At that time, two supervisors in the Cookeville district were disciplined for failing to properly report an incident involving Reed.
The THP said in a news release Tuesday that District Attorney General Randy York is investigating Reed's case. The news release also said Reed will not seek a due process hearing.
