MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Police in Memphis have charged a 22-year-old man in the fatal shooting of musician B.B. Cunningham Jr.
A police affidavit showed Cunningham, who was 70, was working as a security guard at an apartment complex when he went to investigate gunshots and was shot to death early Sunday.
The Commercial Appeal reported the arrest of 22-year-old Dock Britt, who was charged with first-degree murder and criminal attempted first-degree murder. His bond had not been set early Monday and further details of the shooting were not yet available.
Police did not release the name of a 16-year-old boy who was killed in the shooting Cunningham went to investigate.
Cunningham established a national reputation while touring as a keyboardist and singer with Ronnie and the Daytonas in 1965.
