ALAMO, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A first-year Crockett County High School teacher is facing charges of having sex with a 15-year-old student.
Thirty-year-old Perry Reeves was arraigned Monday on three counts of statutory rape by an authority figure and three counts of aggravated statutory rape.
Authorities believe Reeves had sex with one of his students in her home three times in June.
Deputies arrested him after her boyfriend reported the sexual contact. Reeves ran out the back door and tried to escape through a cornfield.
Crockett County Sheriff's Lt. Penny Curtis said Reeves posted a $25,000 bond and was released from jail on June 28.
He was indicted this month. His next court date is Dec. 17.
