KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Teachers ditched their classrooms for McDonald's restaurants in East Tennessee and Southeast Kentucky Tuesday night.
They served fries and drinks to customers during "McTeacher's Night", a fundraiser for local schools.
Local schools received a portion of the sales between the hours of 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. During that time, the school principal, teachers and parents worked at the McDonald's restaurants greeting customers, working the registers, serving drinks, and in some cases, helping make french fries.
Families of students and other school supporters were encouraged to visit McDonald's and enable the educators to serve them, all while raising money for schools.
