Tennessee celebrating Law Day on Tuesday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Tennessee is celebrating Law Day on Tuesday with the theme "No Courts, No Justice, No Freedom."

Lawyers and citizens across the state will participate in various events to mark the date.

Cornelia A. Clark, chief justice of the Tennessee Supreme Court, said the occasion offers the chance to recognize the importance of having a fully funded court system.

Danny Van Horn, president of the Tennessee Bar Association, said activities will continue for several days to celebrate the rule of law and foster greater understanding of the American judicial system.
