I-75 reopened after crash in Chattanooga

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) -- The southbound lanes of Interstate 75 in Chattanooga have been reopened after a crash was cleared.

Police closed all southbound lanes shortly after 5 a.m. Friday, saying a truck that overturned was carrying a hazardous cargo. Later, police said the cargo was liquid floor stripper and only a few gallons spilled.

Authorities said there was no danger to the public.

The Chattanooga Times Free Press said the driver told police a van sideswiped the truck, causing it to overturn. There were no reported injuries. The road was closed through the morning commute.
