JACKSON, Tenn. (AP) -- Police in Jackson are investigating a shooting at a graduation party that killed two men and wounded two other people.
The Jackson Sun reported Brian Jontez Banes and Delandis Cortez Clark, both 31 and from Jackson, were pronounced dead at a hospital after the shooting early Sunday. Police said 32-year-old Dartalin Pharmer and 22-year-old Tashonda Davis were treated for wounds and released from the hospital.
Investigators said the shooting occurred in a parking lot of a building that had been rented for a party in honor of a woman who is graduating from Lane College. The incident occurred about 3 a.m. Sunday as people were leaving the party.
Jackson Police Department Capt. Mike Holt said it appears an argument began elsewhere and continued in the downtown parking lot.
