NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)--While two tickets had the record breaking Powerball jackpot numbers, two tickets bought In Tennessee are worth a whopping $1 million each. They were sold in Nashville and Brentwood.

Tennessee players purchased $30.75 million in Powerball tickets during the entire run, which began on Oct. 6, with more than $9 million of that activity on Wednesday alone. Lottery officials estimate that the entire run generated more than $12.98 million for education programs in the state.

No information about the $1 million winners is available until they claim their prizes.

The Tennessee Lottery has now seen 98 winning tickets of $1 million or more from all its games since inception of the Lottery in 2004.
The previous record jackpot for the popular drawing-style game was $365 million, won in 2006 by a group of ConAgra Foods Workers in Lincoln, Nebraska. The biggest U.S. payout was a $656 million Mega Millions jackpot hit in March 2012 and shared by three winning tickets in Kansas, Illinois and Maryland.
