PALM CITY, Fla. (AP) -- The Florida Highway Patrol says two children were among the four people who died in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 95 in Martin County.
FHP reports that 9-year-old Raineisha Powell and 7-year-old Mercedes Davis died when the car they were riding in collided head-on with another vehicle early Sunday morning.
Also killed in the crash were 28-year-old Demetrius Suggs and Porscha Suggs. Both were from Chattanooga, Tenn.
FHP released the identities Monday. FHP says Carolyn Ramos was driving the wrong way on the interstate at the time. Ramos was taken to the hospital in critical condition. An update on her condition has not yet been released.
No charges have been filed and it was not immediately known why Ramos was driving in the wrong direction.
