One dead, one injured after Saturday morning wreck

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)- One woman is dead after a Saturday morning crash.

Knoxville police say 25 year old Tiffany Tate was driving the opposite direction in a southbound lane on Alcoa Highway. The wreck happened around 3:30 Saturday morning, near I.C. King Park, in South Knoxville.

Investigators say Tate's 4-door car struck a mini-van owned by Royal Taxi.

The taxi driver was seriously injured but is expected to be ok.

The investigation is still ongoing.
