COPPERHILL, Tenn. (AP) -- Authorities are continuing to investigate a Polk County shooting that left three people dead.
According to the Chattanooga Times Free Press, police have charged 33-year-old George Waters with three counts of murder in the shootings that occurred Friday night near Copperhill. Waters is being held without bond at the Polk County Jail. Online jail records did not list an attorney for him.
WTVC-TV reported the shootings happened outside a home on a gravel road that has five houses which are all occupied by members of the same family. Authorities say there may have been a property dispute.
The Chattanooga Times Free Press identified the victims as 59-year-old Wanda Waters, her son, 40-year-old Marion D. Waters, and Wanda Waters' husband, Willard J. Waters, who was 61.
