MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- A woman who testified in the human trafficking trial that convicted a man in Memphis says she worried when the jury deliberated over two days.
But when the guilty verdicts were returned against Terrence "T-Rex" Yarbrough on Wednesday, his accuser hurried to the courthouse to thank prosecutors.
As deliberations dragged on, the witness said she worried Yarbrough might be found not guilty and was concerned about retaliation against her.
But she said an FBI agent texted her cellphone Wednesday afternoon with one word -- "guilty."
The U.S. District Court jury convicted the 36-year-old Yarbrough of forcing eight women and two teens to work for him as prostitutes.
The defense had argued the women could have left at any time.
