Woman's body found after Memphis fire extinguished

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Memphis fire officials say a female victim was found dead in a house fire.

Battalion Chief Keith Staples' report said the fire was knocked down within 15 minutes of being reported. During a search of the home late Sunday afternoon, firefighters discovered the body of an adult female.

The Shelby County Medical Examiner will determine the cause of the woman's death. Her name was not immediately released. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
