Wounded Tenn. Guardsman gets trip to NY

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- A Tennessee Air National Guardsman who lost part of his left leg in Afghanistan was one of about 120 injured service members selected to attend the Stand Up For Heroes event featuring Bruce Springsteen, Jon Stewart, Robin Williams and others.

Staff Sgt. Russell Logan of Millington will enjoy an all-expenses paid trip to New York City this week for the event courtesy of the Bob Woodruff Foundation.

The 28-year-old Logan told The Commercial Appeal that since his 2011 injury, he's played golf with Tiger Woods, gone backstage at a Def Leppard concert and met President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.

Logan said his experience has been "surreal" and selected his supervisor, Master Sgt. Anthony Lee, to join him at the event.
