Wright's relatives remember him on birthday

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Relatives and friends of slain former NBA player Lorenzen Wright have held a memorial service for him.

Wright's mother, Deborah Marion, and others celebrated her late son's birthday on Sunday at his grave in Memphis.

Wright's was found shot to death in July 2010 in a field in southeast Memphis. The 34-year-old Wright had been missing for 10 days before his body was found.

No one has been charged in his killing.

Wright played high school and college basketball in Memphis before playing with five NBA teams, including the Memphis Grizzlies

Marion tells The Commercial Appeal that she has made it a yearly tradition to release balloons at grave on his birthday.

Marion said she tries to keep his name alive, hoping it will help solve his murder.
