Delta Queen gets new home in Chattanooga

Posted: 01/28/2009 - MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) --The historic Delta Queen paddle boat is going to Chattanooga for use as a waterfront boutique hotel. The Commercial Appeal quoted officials Tuesday as saying it will be moored in Chattanooga at Coolidge Park Landing in the downtown waterfront area. It has most recently been tied up in New Orleans. It lost its longtime U.S. Coast Guard exemption to carry overnight guests late last year because of its wooden superstructure. (Copyright 2009 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.)
