(CBS) - Americans spend more than a billion dollars each Valentine's Day, but are you getting what you pay for? CBS consumer expert Susan Koeppen spent a few days ordering flowers and here's what she found out with the help of a professional floral designer.
A "Sweet Delights" arrangement came in, costing them $93. The expert says they should get three of those arrangement for that price. Then they ordered a piece from "1-800-FLOWERS" that didn't even match the image they ordered from, which means they might have replaced some of the arrangement with less expensive flowers. The same thing happened with other florists.
Even though the arrangement you may be ordering this Valentine's Day is pretty, it's not always exactly what you're paying for. All of the florists sent them new flowers upon complaints with no questions asked, since they have a 100% guarantee.
