ATHENS, Tenn. (WVLT) -- An Athens man died Sunday from gunshot wounds that might have been the result of an ongoing dispute with his neighbor, the McMinn County Sheriff's Office says.
36-year-old Jason Howard died from gunshot wounds at Athens Hospital close to 1:20 p.m.
The McMinn County Sheriff's Office said in a press release that Howard and 39-year-old Jason Watson appear to have been in an ongoing dispute that led to the shooting, but would only name Watson as a person of interest in the case.
Watson lives in a camper behind a house on County Road 258 near Athens where the shootout happened around 12:30 p.m. Sunday.
Howard was taken to Athens Hospital, where he later died.
