KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Knox County Commissioner Jeff Ownby court date on Wednesday has been pushed back. Ownby is now scheduled to appear on August 17.

Ownby's attorney says his client will plead not guilty to the charges and will not resign as Commissioner for the 4th District.

In May, Knoxville Police arrested Ownby and another man in Sharps Ridge having sex in public.

Ownby originally was scheduled in court in June, but the judge recused himself.
