Heavy rains cause semi-truck trailer to flip on I-40

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A trailer from semi-truck flipped over on I-40W near the I-275 ramp early Friday, shutting down several lanes of traffic.

Before 1:20 a.m., a tractor trailer pulling two trailers began to slide during the heavy rain.

The driver told Knoxville Police that when he corrected the truck, the back trailer flipped over.

One lane of the ramp to I-40W from I-275 and two lanes of I-40W nearby were closed as crews cleaned up the trailer.

No one was injured and no other cars were involved, and Knoxville Police issued no citations.
