KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Knoxville Tourism and Sports Corporation voted in their annual meeting on Tuesday to change their organization's name.
KTSC voted to change their name to the Knoxville Convention and Visitors Bureau.
The organization also discussed shrinking its board member count to 11 from 23.
KTSC originally planned to discuss at the meeting a possible split with Sports Management, Inc., name change, new board members and more.
The meeting was held at 8 a.m. Tuesday in their office at 301 S. Gay St in Downtown Knoxville. During the meeting, board members also discussed giving Kim Bumpas a one-year contract as president of the bureau, though they did not vote on it.
KTSC came under scrutiny in January when news about the pay of its former president and CEO Gloria Ray came to light.
The city of Knoxville and Knox County officials say the KTSC could be bidded to another organization out when it expires later this year.
