Man robbed at knife-point behind Old City bar

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A man was robbed at knife-point by someone he knew early Friday morning behind a bar in the Old City, according to Knoxville Police.

Not long before 4 a.m., 54-year-old Jamie Biggs told KPD he was sitting with a man he knew behind Marie's Old Towne Tavern, which sits at 202 W. Magnolia Ave., when the man pulled a knife and demanded Biggs's wallet.

Biggs says he tried to fight back and was cut in his right side and thigh in the scuffle.

KPD says he was taken to UT Medical Center with injuries that did not appear life threatening.
