KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- For the first time in 2012, the Knox County Health Dept. will be spraying insecticide Thursday to reduce the mosquito population following lab reports confirming West Nile Virus in Knox County.
From 9 p.m. to midnight on Thursday, mosquito spraying will go on in East, South and West Knox County at the places below.
People are asked to stay in their homes while the spraying goes on.
The Health Dept. will also do Follow up spraying on July 5th from 9 p.m. to widnight in the same areas.
- East Knox County: North of Cherry St, North of Magnolia Ave., West of North Beamn St. and South of I-40, as well as Lakeside St., Kirkwood St. and American Ave.
- South Knox County: Echodale Ln., Wise HIll Rd., Stone Rd., Stoneoak Ln., Magazine Rd. from Stone Rd. to Martin Mill Pike, Royal Heights Dr., Judith Dr., Grandin Dr., Larry Dr., Beachwood Dr., Liveoak Dr., West Red Bud Rd., Sarvis Dr. SW and Maple Loop Rd. from Sarvis Dr. to West Red Bud Rd.
- Gulf Park Community: Dutchtown Road from Christian Academy of Knoxville (CAK) to Blessed Way, Manis Ln., Dutchtown Harbor, Dutchtown Villas and CAK, Embarcadaro Dr., Cortez Dr., Tallahassee Dr., Ethan's Glen subdivision and Sanders Rd. north from Dutchtown
Rd. to Venice Rd., Venice Rd. from Sanders Rd., Tampa Rd. and Sawammee Rd., Gulf Park Dr. from Glaveston Rd. to Naples Rd., Sarasota Dr. from Glaveston Rd. to Mobile Dr., Briarwood Blvd., Briarwood Dr. and Laurel Hill Rd.
