Some brave souls will take a dip in frigid water this weekend, all for a good cause.

It's for the 2012 Knoxville Polar Plunge. On Sunday, several teams will jump into the UT Aquatic Center's Outdoor Pool at 3:00 p.m , all in an effort to raise money for the Special Olympics.

Local 8 News has a team taking part, including reporters Whitney Kent, John Treanor, Ben Raymond, Jason Childers and Sara Shookman.

They need your help raising money ahead of the plunge.
