Power Outages in East Tennessee

UPDATE Sevier County, TN (WVLT) -- Almost 800 have been without power this morning in Sevier County. At one point 4,600 were without electricity.

--------------------------------

Blount County, TN (WVLT) -- High winds and rain have brought down several trees, causing numerous power outages in Blount County.

Around 8 o'clock Alcoa City Electric told us there were 1,200 homes without electricity. Now only 400 are without power.

The outages are mostly in the southeastern part of the county.

Alcoa City Electric dispatchers say a wind storm caused trees to fall across the roads and on power lines.

The weather also caused a small rock slide on Highway 321 East between Walland and Townsend. One lane was closed but it's already cleaned up.

It was a rough storm to roll through here. My brother's shed got picked up by the winds and was completely destroyed with all his belongings in the shed being blown all over his lawn. He also had his pear tree snapped completely off at the base. The wind was so strong my home was actually rocking. I would say the wind was at least 50 mph.
