Publix opens in Northshore Town Center

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Publix Supermarkets opens its first store in Knoxville on Thursday.

The store, located in Northshore Town Center just off I-140 in West Knoxville, opens at 7 a.m. Thursday following a 6:45 a.m. ribbon cutting.

The store estimates it will employ around 200 people.

Publix was ranked by Fortune magazine as the 67th best company to work for in 2011.
