SCOTT COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Scott County Commissioners are expected to vote today on three plans to reopen their county's only hospital.

Commissioners met at 4:30 p.m. Monday to hear from three groups interested in re-opening the hospital, which closed in May. The three companies are: Ameris Health Systems, partnered with S.M. Promen, Pioneer Medical Services and a local group called Alliant Management.

Commissioners will meet again today at 5 p.m. to vote.

The proposals are:
- Ameris Health Systems of Nashville says they would reopen the hospital as a 60-bed acute care facility, create 140 jobs and pay off the hospital's debt.
- Pioneer Medical Services says they would reopen the hospital as a 25-bed acute care hospital, create 90-95 jobs within the first year and reinvest 80% of its profit to the hospital and care.
- Alliant Management says they would reopen the hospital within 60 days, start with 50-60 employees and hold the long-term goal of building a new facility.

After hearing proposals from each of the groups' representatives, commissioners decided they needed more time to discuss the matter and make a decision.

"I'm a little disaappointed we had to delay it but atleast it wasn't a month. It's three days. I can live with three days," Mayor Tibbals said.

Some folks at the meeting said they agreed with the delay. And some are rooting for the local group, Alliant.

"I prefer the local people rather than someone else because I think the local people will do what it takes to get as many employees working again," Harold Brooks said.
