State libraries getting integrated system

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- More Tennessee libraries will be able to provide additional resources to their users under a new service that's part of a statewide contract.

A dozen public libraries around the state will begin using the Auto-Graphics Agent VERSO integrated library system later this month.

Library users will benefit from improved access to a large collection of library materials available through the statewide interlibrary loan program. Besides books and other printed materials, the integrated library system features an online portal that enables quick public access to resources like the Tennessee Electronic Library.

The new service also helps librarians perform tasks more efficiently such as cataloging, processing returned materials and tracking library usage trends.
