The Chris Armstrong tribute/benefit

KNOXVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) -- He played guitar for several years with many local musicians in such bands as The Retroholics, Pineda, and Dream on Alice.
Many local musicians will come together to help raise money for Armstrong's family.
Some of the confirmed performers for the evening are: Jason Ellis, Freequency, JD Cable, Ray Pineda, Trace Taylor, Scott Connatser, Phil Watts, Michael Essex, Scott Houston, Plan 9, Greg Johnson, Dream on Alice, Hardwire, Nashville Mike, and a special final performance from Rich (guitar and fiddle player from Southern Drawl).
The event will also feature a silent auction that includes a guitar. All money raised is for the family to pay expenses and a fund for his kids.
He died unexpectedly of a heart attack at the age of 40 on Sunday, July 1st.
He leaves behind a wife, Jennifer and 2 daughters ages nine and two.
For those of you who are unable to attend the benefit / tribute, but you still wish to donate to the Armstrong family, donations can be made to either the Chris and Jennifer Armstrong Children's Fund at any branch of the ORNL Federal Credit Union - OR - to the Chris Armstrong Fund at the Knoxville News Sentinel Employees Credit Union.
