NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Two people were taken to the hospital after a tractor trailer exploded in Nashville close to the Rutherford County line.
The explosion was reported to police just after 3:30 a.m. on Monday on Murfreesboro Pike. WKRN-TV reported two people were transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, but their conditions were not yet known.
Flames and smoke could be seen from a row of trailers at the site of the accident, but Metro police said hazardous materials were not involved.
The tractor trailer was owned by Southeastern Freight Lines. The road was partially shut down, but has since reopened.
Police were investigating the cause of the explosion.
