UT honors comedian Leanne Morgan

The University of Tennessee named comedian Leanne Morgan an Accomplished Alumni of 2012.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The University of Tennessee named comedian Leanne Morgan an Accomplished Alumni of 2012.

According to a press release on UT's website, Chancellor Jimmy Cheek awarded Morgan with the honor in a reception on July 25th as part of the welcome reception for the school's annual Alumni Summer College, in which Morgan gave the keynote address.

Morgan graduated in 1992 from the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences.

She has since become a touring comedian, appearing on shows such as The View and Nick at Nite's Funniest Mom, and is currently working on a sitcom.

UT also honored WNBA forward Chamique Holdsclaw, Gulfstream Aerospace Manager of Engineering Research and Development Jorge Sotolongo and Vanderbilt law professor and chemistry assistant professor Sean Seymore.
